⚫ Darlington FC – 2024/25 Third Shirt | Celebrating 200 Years of the Railway
We are delighted to launch the clubs new 3rd shirt 3rd Shirt – a shirt that carries a story that runs deep through Darlington’s heritage.
Created to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway, the world’s first passenger railway line, the shirt connects our club’s proud history with one of the region’s defining achievements.
The vibrant yellow design with black trim takes its lead from the official SDR | 200 celebrations — a bold colour that symbolises progress, pride, and movement. It’s also a nod to one of the most memorable eras in Quakers history: the 1989–91 away kit, worn when Darlington returned to the Football League in 1990.
Every detail tells part of the story:
A special edition club badge highlights Locomotion No.1, the pioneering engine that made history in 1825. On the rear neck, the locomotive appears again as a mark of respect to where it all began. The front chest features a subtle outline of the original 1825 railway route, while the sleeve proudly carries the SDR | 200 emblem — linking the club directly to this landmark bicentennial celebration.
